When can I have sex? What are the ages of consent? Who cannot have sex with me?

Deciding to have sex with someone is a big step. The decision is up to you. If you feel pressured to have sex, or if you’re not sure, you can say no. The other person must respect your choice. If they physically try to have sex with you without your agreement, they will be committing a crime.

See our page on When Can I Have Sex? if you want to find out what the laws are on sex, including the what the ages of consent are, when you can have sex and where to go for more info and advice.
